Suppressor Fitting
Roan Mountain, TN

Once your suppressor's tax stamp is approved, getting it properly fitted is what stands between a quiet, accurate shot and a baffle strike. 2nd Amendment Arts verifies thread class, alignment, and gap before your suppressor ever touches a live round.

What Suppressor Fitting Involves:

Suppressor fitting means confirming that your barrel's threads correctly match your suppressor's mount, checking that the bore is properly aligned with the suppressor's internal baffles, and setting the correct gap between the muzzle and the first baffle. Any of these being off can cause baffle strikes, which damage both the suppressor and the firearm.

Before we do any suppressor-related work, we confirm you have your approved ATF tax stamp in hand,  that's a legal requirement for taking possession of the suppressor, not something we can work around. Our Process

We check thread class and pitch against your specific suppressor, verify concentricity between the bore and the suppressor's internal alignment, and confirm proper timing if your muzzle device requires it. We test-fit before final assembly so any issue is caught on the bench, not at the range.

Why Choose 2nd Amendment Arts:

Baffle strikes are expensive and avoidable. We check alignment and thread fit by hand before your suppressor goes home with you, and we can also thread a barrel in advance if you're still waiting on your stamp to arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my tax stamp before you'll install my suppressor?

Yes, you must have your approved Form 4 (or applicable approval) in hand before we install or transfer a suppressor to you. This is a federal requirement, not a shop policy we can waive.

Can you thread my barrel now while I wait on my stamp?

Yes, threading and fitting checks can happen ahead of time, installation and any NFA-regulated transfer steps wait until your approval is in hand.

How do you check for baffle strike risk?

We verify bore-to-suppressor alignment and thread concentricity before final fit, which is the main cause of preventable baffle strikes.
